Why Boxing?

Boxing is more than a sport. It is a discipline that teaches focus, respect, resilience, and accountability. When paired with fitness training and mentorship, boxing becomes a powerful tool for helping young people manage stress, build confidence, and develop healthy habits that extend beyond the gym in a safe environment.

Youth are met where they are and supported as they grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Our Mission

Millington Boxing Academy is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to support the physical, mental, and personal development of local youth through fitness, boxing fundamentals, mentorship, and community connection, creating safe, structured spaces where young people can build confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging.

Coach Breaux’s Role

Coach Breaux leads the program with a focus on:

  • building resistance and resilience through fitness and drills

  • reinforcing discipline through repetition and structure

  • providing consistent, positive mentor support

  • helping youth recognize their strength—inside and outside the gym

His approach centers encouragement, accountability, and respect, ensuring youth feel supported as they grow in confidence and skill.

Fitness & No-Contact Training (After-School Program)

Most youth begin with fitness-based, no-contact training, especially during after-school programming. These sessions are designed to be:

  • fun, engaging, and interactive

  • supervised and age-appropriate

  • focused on movement, coordination, and confidence

  • safe and welcoming for beginners

Youth are never required to spar or compete.

Skill Building & Boxing Fundamentals

As youth build strength and interest, training may include:

  • boxing fundamentals and technique

  • footwork, coordination, and conditioning

  • focus, discipline, and goal-setting

  • Progression is guided and intentional, based on readiness—not pressure.

Competitive Boxing Pathway (Optional)

For youth who choose to pursue competitive boxing, Millington Boxing Academy offers structured training pathways from beginner to amateur, and for those who advance further, preparation toward higher levels.
